Responsibilities
Summary:
The design of body electronics components and assemblies. The design achieved through the use of various types of mechanical analysis, design for manufacturability, 3D CAD modeling and 2D CAD drawings. An understanding is needed of injection-molded plastic component design and manufacturing processes. Must analyze and adhere to the customer and internal specifications and requirements, regulations, and industry standards.
Other responsibilities include:
•Prototype sample making, simulations, and evaluations,
•Environmental/durability testing,
•Investigation and responding to quality issues
•Expectations: Customer satisfaction and smooth development and launch of products within the responsibility
Qualifications
Core Qualifications:
Good understanding of tooling and the manufacturing of tooling – how parts can be tooled is a must
Understanding of electronic Bill of Materials (NX Structure Manager)
Knowledge of Standard Drafting practices (ASME, ISO)
Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
DFMEA
Testing and Validation experience
Engineering Process
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in designing plastic parts, electronics packaging a plus
ISO 9001 / TS 16949 / IATF 16949 Quality Management
Experience Requirements
Minimum 3 years' experience with UG NX and Teamcenter
Experience in Automotive body electronics
Experience using the Master/Model concept in NX (UG Master, UG Part)
Education Requirements
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Skills
Good communication (needs to negotiate requirements and testing with the customer and work closely with DENSO design & manufacturing teams globally)
Strong interpersonal skills:
Ability to communicate verbally and visually with engineers of other disciplines
Proactive to find a resolution, or get help, when issues arise
Should be organized and have the ability to manage and meet deadlines
Ability to take direction and run with it
