Microsoft’s Speech & Dialogue Research Group (SDRG) is looking for an extremely talented researcher on NLP to work on cutting edge research in areas including Dialogue, Machine Reading Comprehension, Text Summarization and Language Modeling, with Machine Learning/Deep Learning. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of broadly recognized research results at leading conferences and publications. For industry candidates, you will also have demonstrated the ability to take research results and transfer them into commercial products.
Responsibilities
The mission of our group is to make fundamental contributions to advancing the state-of-the-art in language technology both within Microsoft and in the external research community. We conduct research by using public benchmarks, which allowed us to achieve human parity results in SQuAD, CoQA conversational machine reading comprehension task, as well as on internal data for forward-looking topics such as natural language generation and language modelling. As the language technology is increasingly becoming an essential element of our daily lives both at work and at home, our research has contributed, and will contribute, to various Microsoft products, such as Windows, Office, Cortana, Xbox, Skype Translator, as well as third party applications through public services.

Qualifications
Track record of publications in top conferences (e.g., ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, ICLR, NeurIPS, SIGDIAL)
Proven track record of technology transfer is a big plus
Experience Requirements
5+ years of research experience in the Natural Language Processing field
Hands-on experience in Machine/Deep Learning using frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Microsoft Cognitive Toolkit
Education Requirements
Ph.D. in computer science or related field
