System on Chip Design and Validation Engineer
The Fixed Networks Division is one of the key divisions in Nokia focusing on making Ultra-Broadband Access possible for all users in the world. The fixed access product portfolio consists of Fiber and Copper Access technology. In both domains the ASIC and FPGA System On Chips (SoC’s) are the heart of the system, making it possible for Nokia to have differentiating products at the right cost points.

Continuous innovation is required in the FTTH product line and in the DSL product line, with next-generation PON technologies and next-generation DSL technologies on our roadmap (like xGPON/ NGPON2, System Level vectoring, G.Fast…).
To strengthen our world-wide SoC development team, our team is looking for talented engineers with a passion for System On Chip and embedded SW development. Our engineers are inspired by innovation and challenging projects that make a difference in the day to day life of everybody in the world.

Responsibilities

Be active from the concept phase until the release of the product into the field.
Contribute to the system design, the ASIC/FPGA feasibility studies, you will work in an inspiring team atmosphere with hardware description languages like VHDL and Verilog, scripting languages like TCL/TK, Perl or python and programming languages like C/C++ when appropriate.
After the implementation, enjoy the verification simulation phase and on-target validation phase on the board containing the FPGA or ASIC. Specific verification languages and methodologies like SystemVerilog/UVM are used when needed. You will contribute to synthesis, place & route and static timing verification.
For this job, use a rich set of software tools including commercial EDA tools from Mentor Graphics, Synopsys, Cadence, Xilinx, and Altera.
Get involved in the embedded software development for on-chip processors and will contribute to the C driver SW development which is required to shield the complex SoC from the higher application layers.
Work closely together with PCB hardware development engineers, SW development & test engineers to bring the complete HW product to the market on time and with the right quality.

Experience Requirements

For front-end development:
Hands-on coding experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, …
Experience with UI development (html5, CSS, React.js), application development
Experience with reactive programming, dataflow programming and/or query languages
For back-end development
Hands-on coding experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, …
Experience with distributed programming and asynchronous communication.
Experience with test frameworks and code quality tools is a plus.
Having an interest or experience with machine learning algorithms is a bonus

Education Requirements

You hold (or will obtain this year) a Master’s degree in (applied) engineering sciences: Electrical engineering or Computer Science
