Eureka is a new unit within SAP S/4 HANA with the purpose to build, learn, and take new SaaS applications to market that delight our customers and fill needs in our current S/4HANA product offerings. PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
We, at the Pittsburgh Supply Chain Management team under the Products & Innovation board area, cater to innovations across product areas like Inventory Optimization (IBP for Inventory), Demand Sensing (IBP for Demand) and DDR (IBP for Demand-Driven Replenishment).
As a Software Developer on the IBP team, you will be working on the development of SAP’s leading solution for Supply Chain Planning in the Cloud-based on HANA. SAP has been the market leader in Enterprise Software for more than 40 years. Today, innovation continues to flourish at SAP with HANA in Memory Database at the core of the next generation of Enterprise Applications. The focus of the position is the development of the IBP for Inventory module within the IBP Platform, but it can also extend to other modules that are also developed by our local teams in Pittsburgh like Demand Sensing or Demand-Driven Replenishment.

Responsibilities
Works in a cross-functional implementation team and is responsible for development focusing on design, coding, testing and quality assurance of complex product features using ABAP, SAP GUI, ABAP Eclipse Development, AMDPs, HANA, HANA Studio, SQL Script, JavaScript.
Resolves complex issues within own area of expertise and supports others in resolving issues
Shows initiative and drives topics to resolution in a high level of quality, speed, reliability, and efficiency
Works closely together with others and shares expertise to ensure product success
Constantly improves own work methods to gain state-of-the-art agile software engineering skills. Enhances skills beyond own core functional focus and works on other tasks for the benefit of the team
Writes unit tests for own code using AUNIT and reviews unit tests of colleagues in the team to ensure good coverage
Writes Automated Acceptance Tests in BDD style using Java, Cucumber and Selenium
Creates a detailed test design incl. test system landscape definition and product standards prepare tests (customizing & master data), authors and executes manual and/or automated tests
Analyzes test results and takes appropriate follow-up actions
Has proficient knowledge and technical competencies of relevant programming languages and related development tools and processes.
Shares knowledge and helps grow the capabilities of the team through presentations, mentoring, and coaching in your implementation team and product area.
Documents code and test results
Documents root cause analysis, workarounds, and solutions on internal and customer incidents
Supports, provides maintenance and bug fixes on IBP DDR customer installations
Analyzes and improve performance in the execution of the IBP DDR module
Analyzes and debugs code from other parts of the IBP Platform that directly or indirectly affect, create issues or degrade performance in the IBP modules. Communicates with other IBP teams responsible for those other modules for the effective resolution of any issues
Qualifications
Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and its fundamental principles
Skills working with HANA and writing SQL Script
Programming skills in ABAP, OO development in ABAP and SAP technologies
Experience Requirements
1-5 years of working experience developing Enterprise Applications
Experience working with Databases, SQL and programming with Database Scripting Languages like SQL Script
Experience writing complex queries and tuning them for performance
Working experience developing software with Java
Working experience writing Unit Test
Working experience writing Automated Acceptance Tests in Java using Selenium
Working experience developing and testing Web Applications with Java and JavaScript
Working experience developing with Web Services (ODATA is a plus)
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field
