Description
Working closely with the Detroit Office management teams, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for delivering HR expertise and problem-solving while administering corporate policies and procedures as they relate to core HR services, processes, and programs. The Human Resources Manager is expected to assess and anticipate HR-related issues and communicate needs proactively inside the department and with members of the management team.

Responsibilities
1 Serve as a Business Partner by providing counsel and advice to the management teams on work-related issues to ensure labor effectiveness and ensure fair and consistent application of policies and procedures.
2 Supervises coordinates and directs the Human Resources Department to ensure that a high level of customer service is provided.
3 Oversees and ensures compliance with Federal and State laws such as OSHA, EEOC, Workers Comp, Unemployment, FMLA, ADA, etc.
4 Recommends, develops and oversees company and associate activities including Wellness activities. Recommends new associate relations programs to promote a positive work environment and enhance associate morale. Promotes SEWS as a good community neighbor.
5 In cooperation with Corporate General Affairs & Human Resources; administers corporate-wide programs; including compensation, benefits, CIA suggestion program, performance management, and succession planning
6 Oversee and manages immigration and work visas for the Detroit Office.
7 Works in coordination with the DET Site Administration Dept on building safety operations.
8 Leads assigned Human Resources Development projects.
9 Oversees payroll processing/recordkeeping.
10 Other duties as assigned.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Interface with all levels of associates at the Detroit office.
Interact with other SEWS group-wide partners and Corporate General Affairs and Human Resources Department.
Experience Requirements
8-10 years of progressive experience, including experience in a management capacity.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration or related fields.
Skills
Requires excellent communication skills, written and verbal and the ability to travel 5 to 10%.
Knowledge of ADP Vantage, Kronos, ADT and Microsoft Office. SPHR or PHR certification preferred.
